Towards the end of the semester, we rang in the holidays by hosting "Sips with Sadie", a drop-in hot cocoa bar event designed for Digital Media students. This was opportunity for them to have one last moment together before the chaos of finals, and heading home for the holidays. 

We have a wide array of students from varying backgrounds in our program. Specifically, some of our LGBTQ+ students have stated that they do not have a safe home to go to for the holidays. After learning about this, I worked with some students to design an easy event for our students to enjoy that would also take the stress away before finals week, along with fostering that love and community we hold so dearly as a program.

Meet Sadie, our department mascot! Loved by Greg Marlow (our Animation Professor), and his wife Amanda, Sadie has brought joy and happiness to all students within our department. I figured it would be sweet to invite Sadie to be our guest of honor to help ring in the holidays before students left for a month.
